By the end of this course, you will be able to write evidence-grounded, 6-component nature prescriptions for your patients, clients, or service users within your existing primary care, social prescribing, or therapeutic practice.
Outcomes
What you'll gain
- Write a complete six-component nature prescription for a specific client, covering dose, setting, activity content, delivery framework, outcome indicators, and contraindications.
- Match dose framings (autonomic recovery, attentional restoration, general well-being, adjunctive mood support) to client presentations using current evidence on per-session and weekly doses.
- Assess outdoor environments for prescription suitability across four dimensions: access, dose-supporting features, safety, and population fit.
- Personalize prescriptions across four axes (population, condition, access, preference) and adapt them for in-person, telehealth, group, and asynchronous consultation modes.
- Run a prescription-writing consultation in 30, 60, or 90 minutes, including pre-measurement, co-design, written handover, and review-date booking.
Audience
Who is this course for?
-
Healthcare workers: add a structured, evidence-grounded prescription pathway to your existing primary care, occupational health, or hospital-based work with patients presenting with stress, mild low mood, or attentional fatigue.
-
Therapists: issue defensible adjunctive nature prescriptions alongside your psychological, counseling, or rehabilitation work with your clients, with clear documentation of scope, indicators, and review.
-
Social prescribing link workers: move from general nature recommendations to specified six-component prescriptions that your referring clinicians and the people you support can read and act on.
-
Prior client-facing professional experience in healthcare, therapy, or social prescribing is assumed.
