By the end of this course, you will be able to select, administer, score, and interpret a validated nature connectedness instrument with your clients or participants, and report a defensible figure to referrers, commissioners, or sponsors.
Outcomes
What you'll gain
- Distinguish nature connectedness as a measurable psychological construct, separable from exposure to nature and from environmental knowledge.
- Select among validated instruments (the NR-6, the Connectedness to Nature Scale, the Inclusion of Nature in Self Measure, and the Nature Connectedness Index) based on your client group, your audience, and the timescale of change you intend to detect.
- Administer, score, and interpret a before-and-after measure with reliability and validity figures stated, and report a defensible group-level result.
- Design a complete measurement protocol in which the audience, instrument, timing, mode, scoring, and reporting form one consistent set of decisions.
- Adapt your protocol across populations, environments, and group sizes, and brief referrers, commissioners, or sponsors on the figures you report.
Audience
Who is this course for?
-
Forest Therapy and nature-based practitioners: add a defensible measurement layer to your sessions and report a cohort-level figure to the charities, referrers, or sponsors that fund your work.
-
Healthcare and clinical practitioners: add a brief, validated outcome alongside your clinical assessments to evidence the contribution of nature-based provision within a care pathway, without making claims beyond what the measure supports.
-
Corporate well-being practitioners and coaches: produce a cohort-level, benchmarkable figure suitable for board reports and budget renewal conversations with your sponsors.
