By the end of this course, you will be able to define, hold, and communicate the boundary of your professional scope when delivering nature-based sessions to your clients or participants in clinical, educational, and community settings.
Outcomes
What you'll gain
- Audit the scope boundaries of your own sessions and identify where current handling is improvised rather than designed.
- Apply the distinction between scope of practice and duty of care, and the four-principle Professional Ethics Framework, to facilitation decisions in your context.
- Obtain informed consent through a structured spoken opening that names the session's nature, limits, foreseeable risk, and information handling.
- Respond to participant disclosures with a calibrated 5-step protocol that matches your response to the level of the disclosure.
- Build a 4-component Ethical Operating Framework (scope statement, consent opening, disclosure protocol, referral pathway) for your professional context.
Audience
Who is this course for?
-
Clinical and healthcare practitioners: Define the boundary between facilitation and clinical care so your nature-based sessions integrate safely with patient care pathways and your existing duty of care.
-
Educators and youth practitioners: Hold a clearly defined facilitation role in school and youth settings, with consent and safeguarding language that meets the standards of the organizations you work through.
-
Forest Therapy guides, coaches, and well-being facilitators: Add structured consent, disclosure handling, and confirmed referral pathways to your existing practice so the ethical layer of every session is designed rather than improvised.
