Forest Therapy Hub (FTHub) is proud to announce its pivotal role in the groundbreaking NatureLab project, a major initiative funded by the European Union. This project is dedicated to defining and implementing the components of Nature-Based Therapies (NBT) through the NATURELAB Approach (NA). Deliverable 2.2 of the project was led by FTHub and establishes a program of Nature-Based Interventions (NBI), integrating the FTHub Method’s recent advancement in the field as a robust, structured methodology, that will be applied in the Project.
Deliverable 2.2 highlights the alignment of NA components with state-of-the-art methodologies and expertise from FTHub, and it addresses the gap in standardized NBI within the literature by proposing a structured approach to assess and design interventions.
FTHub’s specific contribution to the project, encapsulated in Work Package 2 (WP2), focuses on designing, implementing, and validating therapeutic programs tailored to populations with specific health conditions or needs, adapting the FTHub components. This involves deploying the FTHub Method for Forest Bathing and Forest Therapy, meticulously crafted to support mental and physical health improvements.
A significant aspect of the NatureLab project is the training of 600 professionals, ensuring the sustainability and scalability of the initiatives. The programs will engage approximately 4000 participants across 15 distinct locations in Peru, the Netherlands, Germany, Portugal, and Greece. These regions will benefit from tailored nature and nature-based programs, leveraging the latest methodologies and expertise from FTHub and its Peruvian partners in Therapeutic Horticulture.
The framework provided by Deliverable 2.2 ensures high standards and adaptability in various settings, emphasizing the importance of meaningful connections with nature. By integrating Nature Connection Activities and structured sequences into the NBI components, FTHub and its partners aim to revolutionize public health approaches, offering substantial benefits and promoting well-being through nature-based solutions.
