At the invitation of the National Innovation Alliance for Forest Therapy and Health Promotion of the State Forestry and Grassland Administration and the Beijing Forestry Society, Alex Gesse, Executive Director of Forest Therapy Hub, provided public lectures, November 6-10, 2023.

During this special trip to Beijing, Alex implemented forest therapy experiences in Badaling National Forest Park in Beijing, provided an overview on Forest Therapy exchanges between China and Europe, and had a candid and pragmatic discussion with the Head of the National Innovation Alliance for Forest Therapy and Health Promotion of the State Forestry and Grassland Administration.

“Before the meeting, Dr. Zhao Shucong, Chairman of the Chinese Forestry Society, President of the National Nature Education School, and former Director of the State Forestry Administration, met with Mr. Alex. The visit was a complete success”, the statement reports.

One of those days, winter had entered early in Beijing’s Badaling National Forest Park, and the river water was covered with a thin layer of ice. However, Alex and more than 20 people from all walks of life in Beijing who were interested in forest therapy enthusiastically implemented the forest therapy experience activities developed by the Forest Therapy Hub. The path wound along the majestic Great Wall of China, an imposing witness to China’s rich cultural history.

“The participants had a certain understanding of the experience, and we also realized that the concept and related activities of the Forest Therapy Hub’s forest therapy experience are worthy of our study and reference”, affirms the statement from China.
