Not only does Canada have dazzling landscapes, but it is also an example of Green Prescription. The University of British Columbia is also a leading example in the study and promotion of nature-based health and well-being practices.
That is why FTHub’s participation is such good news. The International Conference on Forest Therapy “Healing with Nature” was held in Canada last july and experts from all over the world joined the 3-day virtual event focusing on Forest Therapy research, its implementation and context.
Alex Gesse, FTHub trainer and mentor, was a keynote speaker at the event hosted by the University of British Columbia. He exposed the main contributions of the FTHub Method to Forest Bathing and Forest Therapy, and the latest reports FTHub has published regarding Standard of Essential Characteristics of Healthy Green Spaces.
International keynote speakers also included Dr. Qing Li, Professor and Immunologist at Nippon Medical School, Tokyo, Japan, Dr. Won Sop Shin, Professor at Chungbuk National University in South Korea, Dr. Matilda van den Bosch, Senior Researcher at Barcelona Institute for Global Health and Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia, and Dr. Melissa Lem, Physician and Park Prescriptions (PaRx) Director, among others.
The topics included current research in Forest Therapy, the integration of Forest Therapy into public health systems and Forest Therapy policy and its practice.
