FTHub and the UBC, Bridging the World of Forest Therapy

After the 3-Day In-person Immersive training in Vancouver withing the landscapes of the University of British Columbia, one of the top research centers on Forest Therapy in the world, Alex Gesse, FTHub’s Executive Director and trainer, was part of the joint academic seminar held between FTHub and the Forestry Faculty and UBC’s MINT. 

Hosting an engaging seminar that attracted faculties and students alike, the seminar was a dynamic platform for discussion, featuring panels and even a Forest Bathing session attended by more than 20 students, and lead by Dr. Guangyu Wang, Associate Dean and Professor of the Faculty of Forestry at the University of British Columbia, Director of the UBC’s Multidisciplinary Institute of Natural Therapy (MINT), Director National Park Research Centre (Canada)

On October 3rd, this seminar had participants hailing from diverse backgrounds. Alex delved into various topics, including practical applications, sharing experiences, presenting case studies, and exploring specific research subjects within Forest Therapy.

During their presentations, both the UBC team and FTHub provided an overview of the state of Forest Therapy in different countries and regions, shedding light on its diverse applications and regional requirements. An eye-opening journey through the global landscape.

The seminar did not only reflect on the present but also considered the future of Forest Therapy. The seminar encouraged discussions about potential research directions and collaborative opportunities, bridging academic knowledge and experience on Forest Therapy.
