Call for Abstracts

Call for Abstracts Opens for the V Global Summit of Science, Nature & Health

The V Global Summit of Science, Nature & Health has opened its Call for Abstracts, inviting researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to submit work on the relationship between nature and health before the October 31, 2026 deadline.

Do you have research, a program, an intervention, or a policy initiative exploring the relationship between nature and health? The V Global Summit of Science, Nature & Health is inviting you to share it.

Taking place in Barcelona from March 9-11, 2027, the Summit will bring together researchers, practitioners, clinicians, grassroots organizations, and policymakers to explore how our relationship with nature can contribute to healthier people, places, and environments.

The Call for Abstracts is now open, with submissions welcomed until October 31, 2026.

A Place for Research, Practice, and New Ideas

The nature-and-health field is developing rapidly, and some of its most interesting work is happening between disciplines. A new research finding can change clinical practice. A successful local project can offer lessons for policymakers. An early-stage pilot can raise questions that lead to the next major study.

The Summit aims to bring these different perspectives into the same conversation.

Abstracts are invited in six areas:

  • Scientific papers: original research exploring nature, ecosystems, and human health.
  • Pilot studies: early-stage research examining feasibility, emerging interventions, or proof of concept.
  • Research projects: work in progress that could benefit from collaboration, feedback, or new connections.
  • Nature-based interventions: including clinical programs, nature prescriptions, and therapeutic approaches.
  • Community programs: place-based and community-led initiatives connecting people with nature.
  • Policy initiatives: approaches that bring nature and health into planning, policy, and decision-making.

You do not need to have a completed, large-scale study to contribute. The program also welcomes promising research in development, practical experience, and initiatives that can offer valuable lessons to others working in the field.

Share Your Work With an International Audience

Selected contributors will have the opportunity to present during the Summit through a range of formats.

  • Lightning talks will provide five minutes to communicate the key ideas, findings, or lessons from your work.
  • Poster presentations will offer more opportunities for discussion and exchange.
  • Selected community, clinical, and policy contributions will be featured as case studies in the Mediterranean Models Showcase.

The program is structured to move from evidence to application, with Day 1 focused on science and Day 2 focused on practice, creating opportunities to see how research, interventions, community initiatives, and policy can inform one another.

There will also be four awards recognizing outstanding contributions, including the Best Lightning Talk, Best Early-Career Researcher Poster, Best Community Program, and Best Policy Initiative.

What Are We Looking For?

A strong abstract does more than describe what you have done. It helps demonstrate why the work matters and what others can learn from it.

Submissions will be considered for:

  • Scientific rigor
  • Originality
  • Relevance to the Summit’s thematic pillars
  • Transferability

That final point is particularly important. The Summit is interested in work that can contribute to the wider field, whether through new evidence, practical lessons, innovative approaches, or ideas that can be adapted to different settings and contexts.

Researchers with new findings, practitioners testing an emerging intervention, grassroots organizations building a local program, and policymakers working on new approaches to nature and health all bring experience worth contributing.

Submit Your Abstract by October 31, 2026

The Call for Abstracts closes on October 31, 2026. Applicants will be notified of the outcome by November 30, 2026, with final presentation materials due in December.

One important point: you must be registered for the Summit before submitting an abstract. Once registered, you can access the submission process using the email address associated with your registration.

Have Something to Share?

If your work is helping us understand, or put into practice, the connection between nature, health, ecosystems, and human wellbeing, now is the time to bring it to the conversation.

Register for the V Global Summit of Science, Nature & Health and submit your abstract by October 31, 2026.
