Inga is an FTHub Certified Forest Therapy Practitioner and Trainer, actively involved in the Forest Therapy Institute Research Lab. Holding a master’s degree in psychology, she is a member of the Latvian Association of Addiction Psychologists and has been working in the field of psychology since 2005. Fluent in Latvian, English and Russian, she brings a culturally nuanced approach to her practice, fostering resilience and well-being across diverse communities
Her extensive experience spans working with children and adolescents in addiction and violence prevention, as well as supporting adults struggling with addiction, codependency, anxiety, depression and those who have experienced trauma or loss. She has found nature to be a transformative tool in helping individuals navigate painful experiences, empowering them to lead healthier and more independent lives. She previously managed a shelter for adolescents, where she provided essential support to vulnerable youth facing challenges such as addiction, violence, neglect and trauma. In this role, she oversaw the development and implementation of intervention programmes aimed at fostering emotional resilience, personal growth and social reintegration. Her approach combined evidence-based psychological practices with the restorative benefits of nature, creating a safe and nurturing environment where adolescents could rebuild their lives and develop the skills needed to thrive independently. Through her work, she played a pivotal role in advocating for the well-being and empowerment of at-risk youth.
With over a decade of experience educating professionals—including social workers, teachers and police officers—on topics such as addiction, violence, crisis and loss, she has significantly contributed to professional development in the field. She is the author of several educational programmes, has worked with victims of violence in prisons, and has supported both addicted and codependent clients in addiction prevention efforts.
