Jill Litt
Jill Litt, PhD, is a Professor of Environmental Health at the University of Colorado Boulder and a Senior Researcher at the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal). An interdisciplinary researcher trained at Johns Hopkins, she specializes in urban environmental health, epidemiology, and community-based participatory research. Her work explores how built and natural environments—such as green spaces, community gardens, and local food systems—shape human health and social connection. Dr. Litt leads the EU Horizon 2020-funded RECETAS Consortium, investigating nature-based social prescribing interventions to combat loneliness across six global cities. She has spearheaded groundbreaking randomized controlled trials on the health impacts of community gardening and active living policies. Outside of her research, she enjoys hiking, squash, gardening, cooking, and live music.
