Dr Gerhard Tucek

Dr. Gerhard Tucek leads the Institute for Therapy and Midwifery Sciences and is the Co-Director of the Department of Health Sciences at the IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems, Austria, the Director of the “Josef Ressel Center – Horizons of personalised music therapy”, and professor at the IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems.
The main focus of his clinical practice as a music therapist was in the field of Neurorehabilitation, Paediatric oncology, and intensive care. He has an outstanding research career with achievements in health and clinical music therapy practice.
Gerhard has worked also as a researcher at the Department of Health Sciences, as Head of the Music Therapy Program (BSC, MSC) both at the IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems and for 15 years has been a University lecturer at the “Institute for Cultural & Social Anthropology” at the University of Vienna & the “University of Music and Performing Arts / Vienna”.
He has also graduated as Dr. phil. in “Ethnology” and has a Mag. phil. In “Applied Cultural Studies: Cultural Encounter and Identity” at the University of Klagenfurt.
