Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and FTHub celebrate a Strategic Alliance for Well-being

Two institutions with common goals in research, teaching and development join forces to explore the transformative impact of Forest Bathing and Forest Therapy on mental health and emotional well-being.

Increasingly, science is studying the positive effects of interaction with nature, especially Forest Therapy and Forest Bathing. These activities promote health, strengthen social bonds and foster environmental awareness, thus contributing to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda.

The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, through the Grup d’Investigació en Estrès i Salut (GIES) and the Institut de Recerca de l’Esport (IRE-UAB), leads the NAT project (Teràpies d’Activitat a la Natura), which focuses on the scientific study of physical activity in natural environments as a source of emotional well-being and mental health.

The collaboration is based on advice, exchange of information and implementation of intervention programs in the fields of research and development.

It also reaches, on the part of the UAB, equipping researchers to carry out research actions, creation of research articles among others, and on the part of FTHub the design and implementation of Forest Bathing and Forest Therapy programs with methodological standards that allow scientific studies to be carried out by the UAB team. Also, the integration of the scientific studies in the training actions of the participants in the intervention programs and collaboration in the scientific production derived from the study and/or its publication and dissemination.
