FTHub’s Expanding Forest Therapy: Insights from China

Following its successful presence at the Korea World Forum on Forest Therapy last month, Forest Therapy Hub (FTHub) continued to grow its collaborations in Asia during the 2024 International Conference on the Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, Research, and Application in China.

Hosted by Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, the conference focused on critical issues of carbon neutrality and forestry, providing a platform for cross-disciplinary collaboration.

FTHub advanced its commitment to education and research, to strengthening connections between people and nature, and supporting collaborative research aimed at improving planetary health. This pivotal moment in the global integration of Forest Therapy and nature-based research reflects a shared commitment to scientific inquiry, deeper understanding of the intersection between nature and human health and the strength of FTHub’s global network.

Alex Gesse, Executive Director of FTHub, presented “Forest therapy: American and European perspectives on milestones, nature-based interventions, collaborative research, and networking” His presentation showcased key milestones in the field, the LIM Model, the 5 Components of Nature-based Interventions, and the projects promoting collaborative research and global Hub Seedling networking. Attendees explored practical ways to integrate Forest Therapy into academic, professional, and environmental initiatives.

This opportunity to engage with a community in China that recognizes the power of Forest Therapy as a science-backed tool for well-being it’s a privilege. And to be part of this dynamic, forward-thinking community dedicated to advancing the field through rigorous research and education.

FTHub’s presence at this international conference reflects its vision for integrating science-driven methods with a truly international reach. Engaging with renowned experts and institutions in China and beyond, FTHub further enriches a mission to redefine nature-based interventions through research, cross-cultural dialogue, and actionable solutions for planetary and human health.
