Forest Therapy Hub officially launches the PhorestALL project in Poland, an international alliance to explore the health benefits of forests

With over €1 million in funding from the European Union’s Biodiversa+ programme, Forest Therapy Hub has officially launched the PhorestALL project in Białystok, Poland. This ambitious three-year scientific initiative combines cutting-edge research with nature-based interventions across forests in Europe and Asia.

The project focuses on two main goals: understanding how forests — from soil microbiomes to biogenic volatile organic compounds (BVOCs) — can positively impact human health, and setting common standards for nature-based professional practices.

Forest Therapy Hub was represented at the official launch by Alex Gesse, Executive Director and trainer, and Manuela Renzi, Training Director and also a member of the PhorestALL research team.

FTHub will lead Forest Therapy interventions in five selected forests, with six sessions in spring and six in autumn over two years. These will be guided by the FTHub Method, the LIM Model, and the 5 Components of Nature-Based Interventions, aiming to contribute scientific evidence to the development of “healing forests.”

PhorestALL is a commitment to forests as living spaces for health and knowledge, addressing two major global challenges: the mental health crisis and biodiversity loss.

This project is made possible by a high-level international consortium with partners from Portugal, Taiwan, Poland, Slovenia and Lithuania.
